Guest Hosting Foto Friday + 5K Pics

I'm hosting Foto Friday today for the awesome Adventure Seeker. Be sure to let me know in the comments if you're playing along so I can link you up!

Check out Foto Friday Fabulousness from:

Here are a couple shots from the Rebecca Run 5K.

Can you see the pain on my face? I didn't even try to muster a smile!

Hubby let me win, of course. :)

Last night was our workout run with clinic. We had a 12K (7.5mi) marathon pace run on the schedule. Since I've decided to start training with the 3:45 group on Thursdays, this meant a 5:20/KM (8:35/mi) - just a second or so slower than my best half marathon pace. I knew it would be tough, but it's supposed to be tough. I was hanging on by a thread toward the end of the run, but I nailed the workout. It felt good to really work for it.

Before our run we had a representative from the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon speak to us about the race. At the end of his presentation, he drew a name for a gorgeous 20th anniversary technical jacket. I didn't win, but my friend did and gave it to me after clinic! It's a little big and I likely won't be able to run in it, but I look forward to slipping it on after tearing up the marathon in September.

Those are strong pics for the 5K!

Nice pace on the 12K run; it'll get easier for you to hang in at that pace as the training progresses, and awesome jacket!

Your hard work WILL pay off. You know what amazed me after my first Marathon was how COLD I was.. It was 80's out and I was freezing. That jacket will come in handy..what a nice friend.

sweet deal on the jacket! it looks super cool.

nice job on the hard run! it's tough to mentally tell yourself to shut up and deal, but when you do it feels good to know you mastered the workout.

Hi! I'm over here from NikeMom's Blog. Thanks for hosting photo friday for her! My pix are up and I'll link back to you now.

I've been reading around. I love your strategy for getting the new Garmin (I've been coveting one of the new ones as well, but my 305 is less than 6 months old, so I'll be sticking with it awhile).

I think you look awesome at the finish!

Great jacket - how terrific that someone comes to training to talk about the marathon. What sort of things did the guy talk about?

EndorphinBuzz said...

What's up with the Tiger? I can't believe someone in a suit like that would have outrun you so I'll assume he was there only to greet runners. I would love to high five a tiger at my next race :)

I know I'm a day late for foto friday, but work has me busy. Nice to have guest hosts for this so I can meet more fellow bloggers! I am up for photo if you'd like to put me up!
As everyone else states.....love the jacket!

That's awesome! You're really making me think I should sign up for a clinic in the fall to start pushing myself to get faster...

Great pics--you really look like you left it all out on the course (but I seriously can't stop laughing at the juxtaposition of your pained look with the silliness of the tiger suit!).

Also, GREAT job on the marathon pace workout! That's a superb pace!! And it WILL get easier as training goes on!
