Catch up

I'm a little behind on keeping you guys up to date. Besides, I think I'm due for a bullet post.

Here goes.

• After Tuesday's rip roaring intervals last week, I took it easy with a slow 5K on Wednesday. 5.37K (3.34mi) /31:56

• On Thursday night Silvia Ruegger (reigning Canadian record-holder for the women's marathon, 2:28:36 set in 1986) spoke to my marathon group. She is a wonderful speaker with a great story.

• Silvia's talk went over (totally worth it) so we shortened our run to an 8K tempo instead of the planned yassos (fine by me, having run my intervals Tuesday). 8.18K (5.08mi) /45:13

• Spent the entire day Friday cleaning the house - if every weekend were three days, my house would be a lot cleaner.

• Met up with a few people from my marathon group for our long run Saturday morning. We were all running different distances so we broke off into pairs.

• I ran with Paula, the one who took me skiing that fateful day.

• Everyone always jokes that I should keep my distance so she doesn't push me again. Either that or I should get revenge...

• We took a "short cut" back to our cars through a school field, which turned out to be a mud pit. We jumped over two ditches and thought we were going to have to climb the fence (found an opening). Turning around was not an option after 26K.

• 26.07K (16.20mi) /2:45:03

• Rest day Sunday, family dinner, Happy Easter!

• Attempted 3x1600m intervals tonight - outside, on my own. First 1600... too fast. Second... too slow and almost died. Third... didn't happen. Meh. 8.92K (5.54mi) / 51:02

• Not feeling too confident about a 5K PR this weekend. Still going to try like hell.

• I finally jumped on the Twitter bandwagon after Yumke's convincing post.

• I also finally bought a cell phone after not having one for more than a year. I even hooked myself up with web browsing so I can check in from Boston.

• 4 sleeps til we hit the road!

A year with no cell phone?! YIKES!

I seriously need to clean my house. I need a solid day without the kids underfoot & my motivation on par.

you've been training really hard, I feel confident you'll hit a PR for Boston's 5k. Yay for a cell phone, not sure what i'd do without mine! :)

Sounds like a fun and busy weekend! Yay for cellphones too :) I am so attached to mine.

I am still not sure about this twitter thing. I read the post by yumke and it makes sense but idk i am still skeptical! Sometimes i like disappearing and getting away from technology (maybe cause I am surrounded and working on it all day!) We will see though! Just keep thinking the positive thoughts about the 5k and I am sure you will PR!

5K PR is definitely possible, given your recent speed work. Save some in the tank for the last 2K!

I agree with Yumke, you can PR, just don't go out too fast. Either way, I'm sure the experience will be awesome.

I can't imagine life without a cell phone these days and I really don't even use mine that much. But, I like knowing I have it there in case I need to make a call.

I just joined twitter, too but I'm not sure what I think of it.

Being part of the cell phone generation...YEEKS! I am not attached to mine--but, could never go a year without it!

Your intervals inspired me. I plan to run some tonight (well i planned to run some this morning, but didn't get my butt out of bed).

Good luck with the PR this weekend!

Looks like some great runs to me-- I think if it's a good day you can DEFINITELY PR. I hope you wake up on race day feeling confident!

And wow, Twitter AND a cell phone with web browsing-- you've now officially out-teched me.

The only other person I've heard refer to "days until something" as "sleeps" was the person we bought our dog from. A Canadien. This must be a Canadien thing! Good luck at the BAA 5k!

Those are some good runs. I hate 3x1600's, they seem so impossible to me.
