Tuesday Triple

I decided that I want to get up early and hit the gym every single morning this week. This is not something I ever do (I'm more of a *SNOOZE* kind of girl) so I knew it wouldn't be easy.

So far, I'm two for two!

With the start of this latest round of marathon training and increasing mileage looming before me on the calendar, I started wondering how on earth I am going to be able to maintain my regular cross-training (which I am determined to do this time around). The solution: run or workout in the mornings before work once or twice a week and/or incorporate more doubles. The next couple of weeks will be my breaking-in period while the mileage is still relatively low.

As for today... I completed a Triple!

AM: gym - 30 minutes cardio (elliptical and stair-climber)

LUNCH: run - 6K with 1000 m hard/easy intervals (yay impromptu speed work!)
hard intervals completed @ 4:40, 4:38, 4:29

PM: gym - 1h aerobics/strength fitness class

Tuesday Triple Success! And now it's time to pass out on the couch make dinner and watch The Biggest Loser.

What did you do today?

Way to go on your TRIPLE! Rockstar!

What did I do today? I slept from 930-230 without waking (still fighting off this illness)... and then I grocery shopped and cleaned my bathroom/kitchen/living room... feeling guilty for taking a sick day but feel SO much better!

WOOOH for serious, that's awesome. I'm going to try for a double tomorrow because I skipped my workout tonight to hangout with the boy and drink champagne!!!!

Awesome day!! Morning workouts...that's amazing...what I love about those, when I manage to do them, is that I feel I still have my whole day in front of me and yet, a workout or run under my belt :)

Good for you, three workouts in one day you go. I didnt get a workout in today but now I might just have to get off my butt and make an evening visit to the gym. :)

Weird! I did a triple today too! I usually do a double but never a triple, I like that "tuesday triple." Cool. Great job!

Today was speedwork and kettle bell abwork.

Rock on girl! That's def one way to do it and if you establish it into your routine early enough it won't be as hard.

wow, great job on the triple ... and getting up early each day! I did some hill repeats but had to take the son to to the orthodontist in between. Oh well, got them done eventually! Keep up the great work!!

Nice job on the triple!

I'm definitely a snooze button kind of girl, so my "morning" workout was actually early afternoon. I headed to YMCA though, got in a 3.5 mile run and a short cool down on the bike.

You killed it today! I have heard of two a days, but three?! That is insanely awesome! Way to go Marlene. And way to keep to your goals of getting up early. When I can be stronger than the snooze button my day usually goes a lot better.

whoa!! all I did was hit the pool for some "water running" - and halfway through we were interrupted by a group of 8 year olds and their Swimming lesson. Oof. ;)

are you sore today?? If not, I'm beyond impressed... :)

I hate U! I went to work and busted my butt, then went to class. I finished that with going to bed, hey that's a triple too!

You're unstoppable these days!! I used to do some doubles and loved it. But now, I have to keep my evenings for studying if I ever want to finish this personal training certification. Hopefully one day I'll be able to work out as many times as I want!

oooooooooh marlene! way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just passed out... hehehehehe. today i'm hoping to emulate some of your stuff!!!!!!!!!!!1 :) wish i could get a lunchtime run in but i have to be out of work by 4 for an interview with a student so i can't take the time. no one else really does that here at work so it isn't generally a good idea either. too bad tho cuz sometimes i lose steam by the end of the day!!

good for you! triple threat!

Wow a triple! Way to go!

I like doing workouts at night and in the morning. That way I can do 30-45 minutes in the morning and then the same at night and it spaces it out. I feel like I am making my body more resilient too!

Jamie said...

You rock! Awesome job on the triple. I myself stay up way to late and hit snooze repeatedly :)

Julia said...

3....????!!!! Wow. you are a certified baller.

Toni said...

Great job on triple workouts! I am debating on marathon training and will have to get up early to run as well. Getting out of bed gets easier the more you do it, right?

ShirleyPerly said...

Hee, double and triple workouts? Next thing you know, you'll be doing brick workouts like triathletes :-)

Lindsay said...

goodness marlene! in theory, that's 3 showers! ;) there must be something wrong with me... i obviously need to suck it up and workout more. my piddly hour of running is apparently insufficient!
