Three Things Thursday

1. Three runs in the early evening heat/humidity this week and I'm not ready to quit complaining just yet. I'm determined to adjust and it will not stop me from getting out there, but HOLY, there is a lot of sweat involved!

2. After what seemed like a week long binge on junk food after the marathon, it has been a bit of a struggle getting back on track this week. Why is it so easy to pick up bad habits and so difficult to ditch them? (Un)fortunately I took a peak at the scale this morning and that number has given me some much-needed motivation. Eat like an athlete!

3. Tomorrow after work, hubs and I are hitting the road with Juliana and her husband for a weekend at the cottage including a trip into Ottawa on Sunday for the marathon. I am not participating in the race this year, but will be out there supporting some friends who are running and potentially jumping in for the tail end of the race.

Have a great weekend!

"Eat like an athlete".....gotta say it took me a month after Boston, I think too many personal issues just weighting me down and it was more comfortaing to eat ice cream than grilled chicken :/. But I'm finally on track again...and glad you are, too. A week is good, a month is not!! Have a great weekend at the cottage, and good lord, I was happy to read you WEREN'T running another marathon this weekend :).

I'm so over this heat and it's just starting. Sigh. And let's not talk about junk food. Let's just say when I gave up my "no added sugar" plan, I went down in a big way.

Have a great weekend at the cottage!

The scale hasn't moved for me yet..but I feel like it is just a matter of the next weigh in...I can't wait for my next clinic to start.
Have fun in Ottawa..hope it isn't as hot as it usually is on race day.

Psst... I gained 8 pounds while on vacation - I've lost 6 of them in the last week! So, I def understand the bad habits being hard to break!!!!

I keep reminding myself to think back to February when the heat would've been a welcome relief. No mitts, no slush....go summer! ;)

i'm with you. just a few days of letting myself go with eating makes it so hard to get back on track. that's why i think it's not even worth it for me to ever let loose!

Oh, I hope it cools down in Ottawa! I have some friends running there this weekend too. Hey, why not go out with a bang on the junk food and get yourself a poutine!?

I'm having the same problem with my eating post marathon. Between both races, everything I've eaten has been so thrown off and it's been really hard to get back into it.
Hope you get back on track and I can steal your eating mojo!!

grr what is it about junk food? so troublesome. it took me months to finally actually do something about my beautiful scale results :( but i am now! eating healthy just feels better all around - it's stupid how we get caught up in eating junk.

happy weekend!

I like the three things! have a nice time at the race; cheering on and watching is a whole different sport than running. people don't realize how fatiguing spectating can be!
