TGIF!

Last night's tempo run was a success! Juliana and I stuck together for most of the 4K tempo portion and busted out some speedy splits of 5:12, 5:09, 5:01 and 4:45 for an average of 5:01/KM = 8:04/mi (compared to last week's average of 5:18/KM = 8:32/mi). Feeling strong and confident!

Will everyone be tuned in to the Opening Ceremonies tonight? I can't wait! I'm definitely more enthusiastic about the Olympics this time around since Canada is hosting. GO TEAM CANADA!

We also have Valentine's Day to look forward to this weekend! Last year hubby was all the way on the other side of the world and I was bummed about my ongoing shoulder issues and blood clot. Sarah was kind enough to ditch her own hubby to spend the evening with me and I will never forget it. Speaking of Sarah, she's in some pain but recovering well. Thanks for all the good wishes! I know she's reading.

This V-day I'll be joining my training group for a long run in the morning, then enjoying a nice hot brunch with hubs when I get home. We're having a pretty low-key day, going to see a movie in the afternoon then making dinner together at home. Chocolate fondue for dessert!

Best of all, it's a long weekend! Who else has Monday off? (I can't keep track of which other provinces and states have a holiday.)

Have a good one!

We have Monday off. It's typically a state/federal holiday, but my company usually has us working that day. Not sure why we are getting it off this year, but no complaints!

YAY OLYMPICS!! So excited! I wish I could be an olympic athlete sometimes...it would be so much fun!!

and sadly I do not get the day off Monday ( i am taking a half day lol for personal stuff!!). Schools here have next week off for February break, and public businesses like banks and govt places are closed (i think.) I do know the ppl I listen to on the radio have the day off! Lucky!!

Are they going to have the opening on the beach? I love the Opening ceremonies but I probably won't be glued to the tube for it. Happy VD.....

30secs/mile faster is huge! nice job marlene :)

mmm fondue. i'm not into a big v-day either... i kinda think it's a dumb holiday personally. i don't need hallmark telling me to celebrate love one day a year. plus then i have an excuse to tell josh to buy me chocolate more often since we ought to celebrate love everyday ;) hope you have a nice, laidback v-day - after all the working out of course.

GO USA :-p i am so excited for speed skating!

OOh, holiday weekend for you guys too? NICE!! I think a LR is the *perfect* start to Valentine's day - especially since it makes brunch seem *that* much tastier ;)

NIce job on the run!

I am super pumped to catch the opening ceremonies tonight. I really am looking forward to the hockey... we have a couple former SIOUX players on teams - one for CA and one for the US. Plus, I believe there are 2 sisters from Grand Forks, ND - current SIOUX players on the US girls team!

We TiVo the opening ceremonies in case we need to FF through anything. I'm super excited for the Olympics, but I'm so sad about the luger that died today. I'm also super bummed we're not going even though it's only 3 hours away from us. Oh well, we'll watch them from our dry living room in HD!

Nope, no Monday off (I work in healthcare so any holiday off is impressive) for me.
Hubs and I are just going to go see a movie and then spend the day with our daughter and his parents.
