10 x 800

Last night we ran our Yasso climax of 10 x 800m. That is one serious workout! My coach from last year came out and offered to pace me for ~3:45 800s. We chatted through the first 5 repeats when it still felt somewhat comfortable, and he carried the conversation for the final 5 when I really had to start working to keep up, while I soaked up some last minute advice for next weekend.

The results:

3:53
3:55
3:45
3:44
3:39
3:35
3:32
3:28
3:27
3:19*

Average: 3:38/800

So according to Mr. Yasso, I can run a 3:38 marathon. Ha! (Maybe one day...)

*my previous fastest 800 was 3:24

The plan for this weekend is a (not so) long run of 10 miles on Saturday and an easy run of a few miles on Sunday.

In other news, hubby comes home this weekend! The four weeks has gone by quickly thanks to plenty of running and my awesome family and friends keeping me occupied, but Sunday afternoon can't get here fast enough!

Have a great weekend and
Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms!

Next weekend!!! Woo hoo!!

I think in my next major training round for a marathon I'd like to get up to 10x800. It wasn't in my schedule this time, but I think it'd be a huge confidence boost to do it. (and you rocked it!!)

Can't wait to hear all about the marathon!

Great job! I say GO FOR IT!!! My last training plan said I should go for a 4:07 and I went 4:14 with some juice left at the end. Makes me wonder what I could have done if I had pushed a little more.
