Three Things Thursday

1. Hubs is injured. :( It's his knee this time (good old "runner's knee") and it started acting up right after Goofy. The prognosis is no distance running (5K max for now) or back-to-back days, so his Spring marathon plans have been side-lined. Please send some good vibes his way for recovery (mainly to keep him sane and positive during this recuperation period). I'm trying to encourage him to enjoy the down time, get healthy, build a strong base and have a wicked comeback later this year.

2. I had my annual check-up at the doctor on Tuesday. I love these appointments. Coffee? No. Cigarettes? No. Drugs No. Alcohol? No. Sometimes. Exercise? OH YEAH! Doc wanted to check my iron level and a few other things because of all the running so I'm waiting on those results, but otherwise I get an A+ for Healthy!

3. I have a lunch date today with the lovely Mel of Second Chances (and a mutual friend). We live/work extremely close together (less than a marathon distance apart, as Mel put it) and don't see each other enough, so this is long overdue!

Happy Thursday (almost Friday)!

Yikes-what is it about "Marks" and runner's knee?!? Going for my knee MRI tomorrow...

Hooray for the A+ grade!!

Bummer about hub's knee, though. Does he do any other sports that might allow him to stay fit & sane while his knee recovers? When I couldn't run (due to hammy and calf strains), I've always just put in more time in the pool and on my bike. I didn't lose much running endurance at all, it seemed, although loss of speed was an issue.

lunch with Mel, I am very jealous!

So for runners knee, I did LOTS of walking and leg lifts and that mentally got me through the down time

Thinking VERY good thoughts... you may never know-- people recover at different rates. He may be back running sooner than he thought!!!

Sooo... I've ASKED my Dr to check my iron and he just goes "yeah it's probably low... if you start passing out we can put you on some pills." Ummmm... I don't really want to get to that point Doc!!! And here yours is offering to check you. Fine... I'll just have to go to Canada to get my health checks! It will prob be better than our healthcare if this bill passes... but that's for another convo (yep, I decided I've written enough that this is now a full fledged convo).

I'm JEALOUS of a running buddy lunch date!!! I want one too... ok while I'm in Canada checking with my new Dr. we'll have to go to lunch! Sounds good? Good!

Happy almost Friday!!!
