And I don't regret it one bit. We had a great evening, our house has been re-stored, the tree is up and I feel tremendous relief. Ahhhhh....
2. After a couple of big weeks, 2010 miles for 2010 may very well be within. With about half of the month remaining, I have 109 miles to go. Any bets?
3. Yesterday a few of you asked for more information on Sparkpeople.com. You do need to sign up in order to use the site, but it's completely free!
Some of what Sparkpeople has to offer:
- Personalized diet & fitness plans
- Calorie counter, workout tracker, exercise demos & videos
- Answers from our dietitians & trainers on message boards
- Connect with others like you in our support teams
The Recipe-Builder is a handy tool which allows you to enter the ingredients for a particular recipe, identify the number of servings, and it calculates the nutritional information per serving.
There is plenty more to offer and I definitely recommend checking it out if this sounds like something that could work for you.
Happy Thursday (almost Friday)!!

Spark is SO much more than a calorie tracker. It is a plan to build lasting healthy lifestyle habits by taking baby steps and building small streaks of fitness, eating, and other habits. The site is totally free - I have been on it for well over 4 years. I don't track my food though.
It's true how things just fall through the cracks when all of your free time is spent exercising!
I'm also close to 2010 miles for 2010 but we are having rain and floods at the moment. This morning our street was a river and the road to my running route closed because of flooding.
thnx marlene! the website sounds cool. i might try it out in the new year.
also, its ok to skip 1 run! hahha
good luck with the remaining of ur kilometers! i think u can do it! :)
YAY love the link!
You have 2010 in the bag!!
Glad you relieved some holiday stress, even if it was at the expense of a run. My money is on you for hitting that 2010 miles. If anyone can it's you!
2010 miles? Wow. Even if you ALMOST make it I am seriously impressed.
If anyone can run 109 miles in 15 days, it's you . . . go for it! :)
So, I just signed up for SparkPeople...awesome site. I think it may be just what I need to get my arse in gear! Thanks for sharing!
I love sparkspeople, and I love that it's free.
You have done some really impressive mileage! I don't know how you do it.
You can definitely run 109 miles in 15 days! Now that you got a few things out of the way yesterday you can get back to those miles!
I read your post yesterday and didn't get to comment on my phone (boo!) but awesome job girlie - so proud of you! From someone who did the weight loss thing just a few years back, your dedication will be paid in dividends.
Glad you got the house back together - I feel your pain!
I'm about 150 away from 2010 miles in 2010, I know I'm not going to make it - but do it for me, you got this lady!
Have a great Thursday!
Good choice scrapping the run and getting errands done. You'll be less stressed and can enjoy the run like you should.
You DO gotta go for the 2010 miles!! That was my goal this year, til Mr. Crappy Heel came to visit - so please do it for, along with you!! YOU ROCK!!!
I love SP! such a great tool and community
and you've totally got the miles girl!
sometimes you just have to skip a run and get other things done. i know that is the best feeling when you finally feel caught up on life :)
i'm with you on being behind with stuff. work is so busy i can't get anything done!
i'm going to check out that site. i never heard of this one before. thanks for sharing it.
Hai Marlene,
I found your blog through Heidi's blog and I like it very much. I've added you to my blogroll so I can visit you more often. I run too and perhaps I can learn from you.
2010 in 2010!?!?! Man oh man you put my recent 1000 to shame! You are a machine woman, a running machine!
You may have skipped the run but it sounds like you got some valuable cross-training done. Doesn't the world seem better when your house is in order?
109 to go? And I thought I was tight with 82 to go - hahaha. But, if anyone can do it ... it's you!
I love the route mapping tool in the fitness section of Sparkpeople. I use it ALOT!
sometimes scrapping a run is completely necessary! glad you were able to get some stuff done and relieve that stress!
Maybe 2011 miles in 2011 will be my goal! i know, what a copy caT!
You can do it! You're a machine! 2000 miles is nothing on you!
I bet the year ends............ HA
Yah you will do it! With all those lunch time runs...
I have put off so many things because of exercise but at least my butt is getting smaller instead of the other way around!
wow! good luck on finishing those last miles for the 2010! that's such an amazing number. good work!
and love the info about spark people. my husband has a bodybugg (like on biggest loser) and that comes with calorie counting software. i love logging in the recipes i make to see how good and/or bad they are.
I just wanted to let you know that I signed up for SparkPeople and after tracking one whole meal, I can easily see why I haven't lost weight! THANK YOU so much for posting about the site. I can't believe it's all free to use!! That saves me the $45/month I was about to spend on Weight Watchers. Hooray!! I will post my progress on my blog. There WILL be progress.
