Three Things Thursday

1. I had a company "lunch" (at 3PM) yesterday. A heavy meal including dessert and a glass of wine (oops) made for a pretty crampy and miserable run last night. It felt like I was running with a boulder in my gut, but somehow I made it through the 10+ K. Note to self: smarter fueling for 5 x Yasso 800 tonight.

2. As of yesterday, I've officially run more than 500 miles so far this year for Tall Mom's 1000+++ Club! I thought maybe I would aim for 1500 miles this year, but which is 2400+ kilometres. Might as well go for 2500...

3. Tonight hubs leaves for New Caledonia on a business trip for 4 weeks. Some of you may recall that he was there for 4 weeks last year as well. *sad*

Happy Thursday (almost Friday)!

Stay tuned tomorrow for more race pics from the Chilly Half and Around the Bay.

You are a running machine!!

Well, the good news is, there is no snow for you to injure yourself on while Hubs is away...

I know you'll be *sad* :(

Oh, the dreaded pre-run heavy meal. I've been there.

AWESOME on your mileage for the year! I'm jealous!!!

I do not like being without my husband...but you will be *happy* when he gets home and that's always nice! By the way, we were just talking about doing the 5 Yasso's and how 5 and 6 were the hardest and how we tried to eat and drink just the right things all day since they are "fanny-kickers." The good thing is, they magcially get easier after that. So strange!
I can't believe you ran after a company lunch. I think I'd want to just roll over and take a nap! You are motivated :) !

Your mileage for this year is awesome! Keep up the goodwork! Sorry to hear the hubs is leaving for a bit, take some time to relax and maybe have a glass of wine post run. Lol - I don't think I could have ran 10k after that lunch! :)

I would gladly volunteer to go in your husband's place! I have no idea what he does for work, but I'm sure I could figure it out! And even sneak in a few sessions on those south Pacific swells they get down there! LOL

That is some amazing mileage! I'm impressed at your ability to get fast and create endurance at the same time. My body seems to only be able to handle one at a time.

Bummer that your hubby is traveling for so long!

goooooooooooooo 800s!!! i would ALWAYS rather eat less than more before running. ugh hate the boulder feeling.

and HOORAY MILEAGE!!!!! i'm so not surprised :) but you have earned mayyyjahhh kudos! and you've earned every mile you've logged :)

Oooh that's a long time to be hubless! Hang in there! I think one of the reasons I'm a better morning running is the food issues. Have a great weekend!

Aw, sorry the Hubs is heading out :( hopefully with nice weather and lots to keep you busy, the weeks will fly ;)

wine before a 10k?! ha, not even I space them that closely... lol

Sucks that your hubs will be away for so long! It's tough being apart for that long.

Nice job on the mileage!

500 miles already!?!? Wow!

Too bad your hubs will be away for 4 whole weeks. Any chance you can go visit New Caledonia while he's there? Now that would be a good reward for all the miles you've put in!!!

ajh said...

You are running some serious miles. What do you run in a week? I usually hit 1600 or so for year. I should go for 2000.

Heather said...

Nice job on the miles - 2500 sounds like a great goal!

I recently made the mistake of eating chinese food (heavy on the broccoli) for lunch the day of a tempo run. Bad choice. :)

holla for 500!

I have been eating rice krispie treats like crazy. So much for dropping my 10 lbs! Grrr at me.

I am trying to hit 2010 miles this year. I don't know if I can or not with the new house and hubbs work schedule but it is the only solid running goal I have this year...oh and to maybe do a 50 miler in the fall (but again, new house, hubbs work....)

Absence makes the heart grow fonder. You will keep yourself so busy the time apart will fly.
