For those who sweat

I admit that I sweat... a lot! And you know what I hate? When the sweat gets in my EYES! Especially if I'm wearing sunscreen, because then it stings! Enter:

Halo's Sweat Block Technology keeps sweat and sunscreen out of your eyes while training, working out, racing, or just working hard. Every Halo Headband includes the patented water-tight seal which redirects sweat away from your face. It may sound too good to be true, so I put it to the test.

Halo sent me their most popular model, the Halo Headband II Pullover.

Here's what the sweat-blocker looks like on the inside of the headband. It also acts as a grip to hold it in place, but don't worry - no unsightly red marks!

The Halo Headband did the trick! I tested it out on a 15K/9mi run tonight. It was a slightly cooler evening, but I was still sweating like a you-know-what. With the Halo in place, I wasn't constantly wiping sweat off my face and out of my eyes like I usually would be. Plus, it was totally comfortable and I couldn't even feel it on.

The headbands are available in a variety of styles and colours, so check out the website to see what might work for you.

I'm definitely going to have to try the Anti-Freeze Pullover once the colder weather is here.

Tall Mom on the Run recently reviewed Halo Headband as well, so check out what she had to say here.

My run tonight went really well. I felt strong and steady throughout, hopefully setting the scene for a great week. I only have two more big weeks of training before taper. Only 32 days to go!

Thanks for the review! My dad needed one of those for the race! I gave him a arm sweat band from Bacardi (hehe--a fun bar trip to pittsburgh give-a-way!).

great review. those are kind of cute.

i wear a headsweats hat for the same reason...but it also keeps the sun off my face. gotta' protect the face from the evil sun rays, especially where I live!

Good review woman! Cute pic too. Glad your run went really well. I am so looking forward to that taper week myself! LOL!

Alright that's it... two of ya have reviewed this and loved it so I will def have to check it out. I have a sweat band type thing but I'm not really a fan of it so that's why I just use "wrist rockers" (wrist sweat bands) to constantly keep the sweat out of my eyes... You sold me.

P.S. You look adorable in your pic! :)

Belated congrats on finishing the 30k. Way to stick it out. As always, a lesson learned; now you know how to better prepare for your marathon.

Ooo, I want to look into one of these headbands. I like some sort of band to get my hair away from my face anyways!

oh man, I hate getting sweat in my eyes! I've had to stop applying sunscreen to my forehead to avoid getting all teary on my runs. I might have to check these head bands out.

It's why I wear my visor. The bondi band isn't working too well for me, so I'd like to try this one!

I need one of these!! A hat doesn't cut it in these HOT temps, my head needs to breathe :)

I wish I had one of these the past few weeks-- It's been a muggy mess here in Buffalo which means probably the same there in Ontario.
I will have to check it out-- I HATE sweat in the eyes.

Sorry I am late-- But don't let last Saturday's race get you down. It sounds like you figured out what happened so live and learn (and run!)

Keep that head of yours high-- you have soo much to be proud of!

My husband has one of those halos too and likes it. I sweat a LOT too but my sweat must be quite low in salt these days as it no longer stings (it used to).

Great to hear you had a good run!!

haha the first part of that reads like an infomercial... hey, if this running thing blows up, you always have that going for you ;)

Good luck in your training/races

Too bad they don't offer a anti freeze tuque since I actually lost my running tuque last year. Their description sounds funny to me with the "chilly" 27, isn't that only like minus 5 in celsius?

You look so cute in the headband! I have several pictures of me in a Halo Headband plastered around the web... I want them to send me some more! ;-) But really, they're a great product. I have the tie version, but I'm interested in their hats and the headband like you have too, so this was a great review!

Thank you for posting about the headband. I love headbands and recently misplaced mine, I think it's time to cough up some cash for a new one.
