Three Things Thursday

1. Tonight kicks off the winter/spring marathon clinic. This will be my 5th consecutive session with this group and I couldn't be more excited to be starting up again. I even convinced hubs to join in the fun this time around! We have a fantastic group and I wouldn't be where I am today without their support, guidance, dirty jokes, and a gentle push or shove when I need it. There are a couple dozen regulars who return each year and we also pick up some fresh meat newbies with the start of a new season. It looks like we are going to have an enormous group this time around - we are going to have 8 pace groups! Let the fun begin. (Best part: Coach is already organizing some of our first run-brunches!)

2. After missing my first scheduled run of the new program, I was feeling good yesterday and put in a nice 9+ miler with the group. Then today I made a triumphant return to lunch running with some "cruise intervals" - 3 x 2000m at tempo/LT pace with 40-second mini recoveries. It went great! I beat my target pace and felt great. I have another group 10K on deck tonight to finish off a medium-long day; hopefully the legs will cooperate!

3. Wowzers! Mission to a(nother) Marathon now has 500+ followers! Thank you so much to each and every one of you, especially those who take the time to read and comment regularly. It wouldn't be the same without you! If you're a silent follower, pretty please leave a comment to let me know who you are so I can drop by and say hello.

Happy Thursday (almost Friday)!

Hi Marlene,
I'm one of the silent readers, and I've been here since WB days, I got married in 2005 also. Anyway, I admire your journey, and am always inspired by your dedication to running.

Looking forward to cheering you on from the sidelines in 2011!

:)

I'm a pretty quiet reader. :) Saw you at the Rock n' Roll this year. Currently training for a BQ at the Eugene marathon. Speed work is new to me and I train alone because of my schedule. Wish me luck!

I didn't even realize I was being a silent reader until just now. I always read posts in Google Reader, and so I hadn't noticed that I hadn't signed up as a Follower. Hi!

Did I hear right that you're headed to the Martian half/full? Jess (from RunJessRun) and I will be there too. I would love to meet up!

I always enjoy reading your posts, especially your race reports. I originally found your blog because I wanted to see what the BAA 5K medal looked like (I ran it in 2010). Thanks for your honesty and insight.

Consider it at least 501 because I don't "follow" folks but still visit/comment. Congrats!
