Foto Friday: A day in my life

First, the winner of my Races2Remember Giveaway is:  Jen B.

*****************

I decided to play along after Morgan shared A Day in the Life of the Redhead. It's harder than you would think to remember to take pictures of everything throughout the day, but I did my best!

I photographed everything I ate as well, but will be posting separately - stayed tuned for FOOD Foto Friday next week. :)

My day starts when the alarm goes off at 6:45 most days (since I am not running in the morning right now).

After showering up and getting ready, I head downstairs for my first "meal" of the day.

After making sure I've remembered everything for my run(s), I'm usually out the door within about half an hour of waking up... with all of this luggage in tow!

Enjoying the sunrise as I pull out of our driveway

After about a 30-minute commute, I settle in at my post for the day.

I spend the morning blogging tweeting facebooking working and eat my breakfast and snacks along the way (to be pictured next week!), anxiously waiting for lunch hour so I can get my run on.

I take a quick peak at the weather and haul my bags down to the private washroom to get ready.

Before:

After:

Aftermath on the washroom floor

It's always fun to take off the headband and see just how bad my hair is, before making myself somewhat presentable again.

Sweat makes an excellent styling aid, didn't you know??
Emily knows.

Compression socks in black are essential:

Then it's back to my desk to get back to work upload my run and stuff my face for the remainder of the afternoon.

When the clock strikes 5:00 4:55, I'm out the door an on the way home (usually), but tonight I was heading straight to the park for my next run. I stopped at the local library to use the facilities for my next wardrobe change. (Sorry, no photo! Someone was in there with me!)

Then it's over to Fairy Lake and time to get going on some speed work.

BEFORE    |     AFTER

Back at home it's time to unload - not my favourite task!

I catch up with the hubs and get busy on dinner and lunch for the next day before putting in some couch/laptop time.

Last but not least, I take a hot epsom salt/bubble bath most nights before turning in. Ahhhh.....

Tell me about your day!

fun post!

my day is not as exciting. and involves more letting the dogs out and in and out and in and out and in and out and in. :-)

This was fun! That is a lot of luggage. I love the pink theme. Your expressions in your post-workout hair pics are priceless. I've used sweat as a styling aid too many times to count. You do it quite well and you don't look like you just went for a lunchtime run. I am so jealous about your day-end baths. We don't have a tub here in China and I need a relaxing soak!

I am always so intrigued with people who run at lunch. I just assume I will be way to sweaty afterward. How do you clean yourself up? And YAY for a hot epsom salts bath, I love it!

I am SO going to do this. Should have yesterday since I have the epic 3 hour workout durning the week.

Taking photos of your entire days food also sounds interesting. GREAT post!

Love it. I love seeing where people work, etc and all the little things that go on throughout the day. That first before and after pic with the hair is crazy!

Productive day! I'd say you get a good weight workout in toting all of your bags too! : )

This was so much fun, totally made me smile! I love all your pink, girl - you would fit very well in my world!! :)

Have a great weekend!!!!

How fun! I wish I could trade your end-of-day with mine. I'll have to do this, but since I work PT, I'll have to do it twice: a work day and a stay-at-home mom day.

I'll also have to figure out how to turn the fake shutter noise off on my phone camera or people will think I'm nuts. I mean they already do, but this might put it over the edge. LOL

i honestly think my hair looks better with a little sweat in it. just sayin

Really enjoyed this! I'll have to do this some time. Enjoy your weekend!

This was such a fun post!!! Not fair that your hair looks that good with a little sweat...mine has a frizzy halo for the rest of the day!!! Oh and I'm glad to see that I am not the only bag lady around. I swear I look like I'm going on a week long vacation whenever I leave in the morning!!! I swear I should be a sherpa or something!

I love this!! I might have to join in as well. (with the kiddos it might make for a verrrry long post.)

I love that your hair looks so great after your run. Lucky! My curls would never behave after a run. At best a crazy pony tail would be my only option. yuck!

Didn't you feel just a little sneaky taking all the pics at work?!?! LOL! Thanks for joining in on a day in the life! :)

I loved this post! I especially love the 2 runs in one day! I just don't know if I had it in me to do that. And the after run pics were awesome btw!! :)

Love it!!

If only I could be out of the house in half an hour! Sucks being a high maintenance girl!

Char said...

If you run twice in a day do you wear the same clothes?

Love the photos!! You inspire me to do more "getting ready" kind of tasks before I hit the hay.

And I'm total stoked about the Races2Remember win!!! Watch for it mid-May :)

one reason i dont run during the day is because i dread the packing and unpacking...and i have a 10 min walk from the parking garage to my desk. lugging all that stuff sucks!

have a good wknd!!

What a fun post :) I may have to borrow it at some point! Sweat is totally a great styling aid, I agree. I love that you have a bath before bed - what a great way to relax before sleep!

So fun!!!! A couple of things I noticed: how do you cut your peppers? It looks different from the way I cut mine, I have no idea how one is supposed to be cut??? I laughed out loud about your working and facebooking and blogging. =)My front door entryway looks like that too when I come home. Utter. Mess. And my kitchen counter while making lunches-complete controlled chaos!! And you have GREAT sweat hair!! I'm not so luck!!

Ok, come next week I'll try to do my day in pics too. This was fun.

I loved this post. Two workouts in one day! I also hate unloadiing. Then you have to reload, unload, reload, unload and with doing this so often why do I forget stuff?

Jamie said...

I did this not too long ago. I love seeing a day in a life! You rock with the 2 workouts!

I love this post! I think I may copy it! You know, you're such a giving blogger that I feel like I know you despite only meeting you once. When you think about it though, I've been reading what you write for over six years now! Crazy, eh?

Nicole said...

Hot baths are my favorite!!! your day looks lovely to me! i'm curious though-- what do you do at work???

Unknown said...

I think you would laugh if I told you about my day!
You are really great at packing and organizing all your stuff, I just throw stuff in a bag and go. Of course, I always forget something.
You are my hero!

Lindsay said...

does hubs mind you taking photos of the bed at 6:45am? the honesty about what you "do" at work is awesome ;) if i don't upload my run i am definitely re-mapping it on mapmyrun for no real reason... also i like how you backed up to the bathroom wall to get your sock picture.

Zoë said...

That's quite the load! (Um, that's what she said!)
You definitely deserve that warm epsom salt soak at the end of the day!

Richelle said...

Cool post! I may have to do this sometime... maybe this summer when the weather is nicer. :)

I love lululemon bags. They have a small one that's perfect for taking my lunch to work.

Amy said...

I like this post! Thanks for sharing! How do you remember all of your gear every day?

Anonymous said...

Your running-at-the-office pics never fail to entertain ;) mostly cause you have this look like "yup, I'm sneaking out! Can't wait to Ruuun!"

I might have to take note of this bath before bed thing, that looks sooo relaxing :)
