This year, once again, I have had the pleasure of being involved behind the scenes for Run4Rett.

All proceeds go directly to the Ontario Rett Syndrome Association.

My good friend Juliana has a daughter with RS, which is how I came to be involved with this event.

Rett Syndrome is caused by a random genetic mutation and is considered to be a severe neurological disorder affecting 1:10,000 female births. It is often misdiagnosed as autism, cerebral palsy, or a non-specific developmental delay. Many girls experience seizures, scoliosis and the inability to communicate verbally. Girls and women with Rett Syndrome are dependent on their families and/or caregivers for life.

On Monday night, several of us got together for a Race Kit Stuffing Party! It was incredible to see how much product had been donated (many thanks to my sister who has done a wonderful job for the second year as Fundraising Coordinator) and to see everything come together.

This is an excellent, family-oriented event and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area. Bring the whole family out for a fun-filled day!

I am also looking for volunteers.

P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY HUBBY! Here he is finishing Run4Rett last year.

(Can you tell that he has a favourite top to race in too??)

You guys are all doing such a great job supporting this cause. The loot in those bags is impressive - would have taken a long time to finish the bag-stuffing.
