Signs that 2 runners live here...

shoes, shoes and more shoes

**to clarify, these are all in current circulation!**

more running jackets in the front closet than non-running jackets

a perpetual laundry cycle

reading material of choice

more literature

the "running cupboard" (we're low on Gu!)

water bottles galore

drawers upon drawers filled with running gear
(does anybody actually fold this stuff?)

countless drawstring bags (race freebies)

shoeboxes everywhere

shoeboxes used for storage

various paraphernalia in the washroom

and of course the wall of fame

What are some of the signs that a runner(s) lives at your house?

Okay, time for tough love, recycle, reuse!!

Donate those excess shoes to the RR, they will pass them on to peeps who can use them....
shoe boxes ~ recycle
old running clothes ~ recycle
race bags ~ recycle

LOL....now, time to go buy more GU!!!

You are awesome! I love this. We have similar shoe storage in our garage, a giant GU drawer in the kitchen, and constant laundry.

LOVE it!
My house is similar -- except you are WAY more organized. I should get on that :-)

Love it Marlene!!
I need a wall of fame...my medals are all hanging together on a hanger in my closet...

LOL, what is that thing that your shoes are on? Our shoes are all over the basement floor! I thought I was the only one with the giant size Epsom Salt............

Loved these pics! You are way more organized than I'll ever be :)

This made me laugh; I was just taking some pictures of my 32 pairs of Nike Tempo shorts and thought I should post something about how much running stuff I had around the house :). At least your stuff is VERY organized!!! :)

I love this and that you buy epsom salts in the huge container as well.
...we also have a bag of frozen peas never eaten, only used to ice body parts.

Heather said...

Look at all those medals!!! My husband is constantly complaining about my "running crap" all over the house . . . I say the same thing about his "ice fishing crap!" :)

Great post!

HOLY SHOES!!! haha, WHOA guys. I usually get rid of my old ones, and move on?? Am I alone in this?! ;)

This post is awesome! Signs that a runner & cyclist live in our place: water battles GALORE (D hoards them), Accelerade & Nuun in mass quantities, laundry cycles (ugh), and crazy drawers....nope, we don't fold it either. ;)

I usually just hang my running gear. It's faster for me.

Yay for a runners household! :) I love the special running cupboard filled with gu. That is awesome! I think a sign that a runner lives at my house is the fact that I am always doing laundry and hang dry all my wicking clothes. So there are clothes hanging from every where always. This post made me smile! :) And I don't even live with J. Alabama yet but when I do, I can't even imagine how bad it will.

LOve love this post.. Makes me wish my hubby was more into running so we could have a PRETTY medal wall like you.. AWESOME that you two are so bonded..

I like your shoes rack!! Where did you get that, we have similar signs at my house!

Johann said...

Love it! I must agree, you are really organized.

I suddenly feel a little bit better about my rubbermaid bin of roller derby tights.

Love it. Looks quite a bit like my house, too. I knew a guy who was a triathlete and he used his dining room table as his "transition" area when doing bricks. Quite a funny sight!

HAHA! My house looks like this! I have a drawer in the kitchen (like someone else mentioned) dedicated specifically for GU and energy bars.

It makes me stop and wonder, "Has this taken over my life to the point of being obsessive?" NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! ;)

Jess said...

I am in awe of all those shoes!

Aron said...

ha! pretty much everything exactly EXCEPT for the shoes!!!! so many! The most I ever have in rotation is 2 :(

Two items define our running house:
TONS of towels from the gym after I wrap up my stinky wet clothes and stick them in my gym bag to bring them home to wash.

I CANNOT open my running drawer without a few cuss words b/c there is just no room for the clothes in there.

Who needs a filing cabinet when you have a million shoeboxes?

Janice {Run Far} said...

Love this post. I keep waiting for my hubby to get more serious about running. I think I'm out of luck, he is into his hunting stuff way to much to dedicate time and money to running.... so i'll do it for the pair of us. teehee

Nicole said...

Im glad im not the only one with thousands of water bottles! :)

I love this post. You come up with some really fun ones. I have a little "trophy" table! I usually have the recent medals hanging on the fridge. The calendars are running calendars. And more.......

That is SUCH an awesome wall of fame!!!

And a general awesome signs of runners!

i agree what is in the shoe boxes?

and i was totally writing down book titles!

MCM Mama said...

LOve it! My laundry room always has running gear hanging from the support beam drying. ;o)

Nicole @ Haute Runner said...

Yup looks like my house! I fold my running clothes... my hubby doesn't fold his though!

How many pairs of shoes do you have in circulation? I have 2 pairs, but it looks like you have wayyy more than that!!

I think my running wardrobe cost more than my regular wardrobe!

Unknown said...

I fold my running clothes and I toss out shoe boxes as quickly as I can.
My closet: this summer, I'm getting rid of clothes that just hang and putting my running gear on hangers. It's the athletic wear that I use all of the time.

Courtney @ I CAN DO THIS said...

Ha ha, I'm so glad to hear you don't fold your running clothes either!

Denise said...

love this post! the only bad thing about all the working out is the endless laundry...

Q said...

Ha! I have medals hanging on the wall, a bookshelf with a foam roller, garmin, mp3 player on it, and more running jackets than regular jackets.

Lindsay said...

Ok. Goodwill some of those drawstring bags. Haha. Oh man I would be stressed with all those running clothes. For some reason I feel like I have too much and you have WAY more than me. Haha. I'm weird I know. I fold my running clothes but they inevitably end up in sloppy piles on their shelves.

love the tiolet-lit.

awesome.

I love this post!

Rose @ Eat, Drink, and Be Meiri said...

My "fitness drawer" can't actually hold all the workout clothes I own, but it's okay, since half of them are in the laundry bin, pretty much always. There's never a time when every article of workout wear is clean in our house. Which probably means we should do more laundry.

Jill said...

Love, love this post. It was cracking me up with the shoe boxs because I have the same thing, the laundry basket of smelly running clothes and running magazines...So funny, but very serious at the same time.

You are so much fun!

Richelle said...

I've got shoes, medals, bibs and assorted running clothing in random areas throughout my living space. Packing all of it up and moving it once Mark and I find a place to live will not be fun.
