I had originally planned to run the Toronto Marathon in October this year, but most of the group that I will be training with all summer will be working towards this event, so I've decided to go with the flow. A number of factors influenced my decision, but the primary reason is for the support I will have on race day. It's an incredible group with an amazing coach and I want to train with them from start to finish.
Plus, this gives me the opportunity to seek redemption at the course that chewed me up and spit me out last year. Look out, STWM, I'm coming back for more!

congrats! same one hubby is doing? It'll be great to have your group run the same one!
Woo hoo! They got rid of the spit, but i'm still scared of potential late-September heat. Oh well, I love that race anyways and I intend to set a PB in the half this year.
Cool! Good luck! Have fun training with your group.

Awesome! The marathon will never know what hit it!
Yay! You picked the race, now make it happen!!
How exciting!! I think one of my besties (an aussie living in Toronto with her partner) is running that one too! Her blog is http://theenso.blogspot.com/.
Marlene you're such a trooper, I love it!
Yay! You're going to crush it!
Congrats on setting your goals. I'm sure you can get revenge on this course, you've been doing fantastic so far this spring.
You make me want to run it again now, but I'm not sure I can deal with the training anymore.
very exciting!! sounds like the training will be fun and full of support to get you ready to put a beating on toronto! :)
I think you will tear the course up this year, especailly with all the support you will have.
congrats!! The course better watch out for you this year!
Woo Hoo! I won't be running Scotia this year (week before St.George), but I'm sure Hubs will, so I will come and cheer!
Sounds like you made a great decision - always nice to train together with the group. Congrats on registering!
Good luck, one race addict to another.
That will be awesome! I can't run Scotiabank, so am thinking about volunteering as a marshal! (I think I'll look good in the orange vest, and have a very loud cheering voice!)

This is great! I am sure with a coach and a great support will help you to kick this marathons butt! So exciting!!
Congratulations on signing up for your second marathon. It is addicting, isn't it?!
Thanks for the bday wish! ;)
You are going to kick this race's BUTT! Go get 'em!
Go get redemption at #2. I looked at that course map and it has a real attitude problem. You need to give it a good sock in the mouth.
Yeeeehaw!!! Get 'em tiger!
ryc: why- yes, I AM an Ultimate Ninja! HAHA!! That's crazy.
I changed the blog address a couple of weeks ago to match my twitter profile. But I have no idea why the old one is coming up ultimate ninja. Maybe I just got mad skills like that. :)
Yahoo! That's terrific!
Ah, fond memories! It will be great!
That is strange. I do remember vividly staying at a Westin Hotel back in September 1983 in Toronto. It was my first time witnessing a marathon from the hotel room. I was in AWE. I said to myself whether I will ever run in a marathon in my lifetime. Now, the big question is why its 20th Anniversary of Toronto Waterfront Marathon. 1983 ??? It must have been a different name for Toronto Marathon. I will have to google this one.
Yes, indeed. I was right (almost) on track. It was October 2, 1983 and it was called Miller High Life Toronto Marathon. Who knew? Wow - I surely do remember this.
nice! This will be my first marathon!
