... will it make me stronger?
I walked into my High Octane Training class yesterday evening - arms, abs, quads, inner thighs and tush still sore from Saturday's Boot Camp. Every squat, lunge, crunch and lift stung as we worked our muscles to exhaustion. The bursts of cardio in between felt great and kept everything pretty loose. I absolutely love the class - for the instructor, the music, the variety and (most importantly!) the workout. But holy crap, it's exhausting.
I followed it up with a quick run (5.39K = 3.35mi in 29:43) before collapsing on the couch to catch up on some TV. When it was time for bed, I could barely carry my legs up the stairs. I had planned 8K for last night, but knew I didn't have it in me. I'll make it up tonight or in the next couple days.
I'm having a very difficult time staying motivated to run by myself on these cold, dark and icy/snowy evenings (whereas I loved running solo in the summer). I can't wait for my marathon clinic to start in January, when I'll be meeting the group to run three times each week. 'Til then, I'll latch on to company when I can and suck it up when I can't. Tonight will be solo... meh!
Tomorrow I'll be trying something new and running before Spin class. It's all about experimentation.
In other news:
• I lost 2.2 lbs at WW on Monday
• I have 17 working days til two weeks off for Christmas (!!!)
• I really need to start Christmas shopping…
Happy Hump Day!

Congrats on the weight loss!! That's great!
yay on the 2.2 lbs! That's great! you're doing such an amazing job with the cross-training, make sure you still have rest days in there somewhere :) I'm with ya, i haven't even started xmas shopping and the kids keep telling me they don't know what they want! Ugh! LOL
I can't believe you can follow up a class like that with a run! Wow.
I just postpone my shopping until my wife gets frustrated and does it for me. Then all I have to do is get her something. I'm sure you don't have the option though.
Congrats on the loss of the lbs... and I know your pain with cross training! AGH! :)
Great job on the weight loss! I am interested to hear how running before class goes! You are so lucky to have that marathon clinic to go to!!
Let yourself off the hook. The motivation will come and you'll be well on your way to that next speedy marathon finish.
Cheers.
Great job on the weight loss. I keep thinking that I'm finding all the weight that others lose. ;-(
Great job on your workout, and congrats on the weight loss!
I know what you mean about running by yourself in the dark, wintery weather...it just isn't happening for me! For now I'll substitute with the gym....
I would be sore too! I just did a little strenght training yesterday and on Sunday and I can barely feel my legs LOL
STRONGER!!
I'm not ready to shop yet. I have the Thanksgiving block :)
You are AMAZING! Boot camp, weight loss, and what is this? Christmas vacay...WOW!!
BTW, take your well deserved downtime from running solo and enjoy...soon enough we will be out pounding the pavement for the 2009marathon season.
Wow, HOT sounds like quite the workout! No wonder you didn't have 8K in you. I felt much the same way in the summer when I was trying to run and do boot camp on the same days.
Congrats on your great success at WW!!!
I definately would like to try a H.O.T class. Sounds really impressive. Good job on the wl!
Nice work on the weight loss. I need to find a kick butt class like that. Sounds amazing.
